Hair Care Tips for Men and Women with Very Short Hair

This post will cover hair and scalp care for men and for women who have very short hair. I am also going to cover some questions I get repeatedly over emails.

Hair Care Tips for Men and Women with Very Short Hair
There are both pros and cons of maintaining short hair and a majority of men keep short hair. The pros are that you save on both time and money. You need very little time to groom your hair and a very little amount of shampoo, conditioner or hair styling products. You may not even need some of them.

The cons are that if you color your hair, you end up coloring your entire head as it is difficult to do just root touch ups on short hair. You understand what I am saying, right? Again, a lot of people ask how to use conditioner on short hair and I agree it is tricky. Because conditioners are not supposed to be used on the scalp. And with short hair, you will surely end up with some conditioner on your scalp. Another con is that if you have graying or dandruff, these are easily visible in short hair.

So with conditioner regularly touching your scalp and chemical hair color reaching out to your entire head, even where it is not required, you end up with hair loss soon. Balding is increasing day by day and even women complain of bald patches developing in their heads. So here are a few tips. Hope you find them helpful.

Sunsilk Perfect Straight Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Sunsilk Perfect Straight Shampoo and Conditioner Review

This is a review of Sunsilk's newly launched Perfect Straight Shampoo and Conditioner with Straight-Lock Technology, co-created with Yuko Yamashita.

Sunsilk Straight Lock Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Sunsilk Perfect Straight Shampoo and Conditioner Price:

INR 56 for 90ml
INR 110 for 180 ml
You can buy Sunsilk Perfect Straight Shampoo online HERE.

Sunsilk Straight Lock

The shampoo also comes in a 360 ml packing priced at INR 189, but I haven't seen that anywhere. The shampoo is showing out of stock on most online stores, which means it is selling hot and I could rarely find the conditioner on any online store. The other day I saw a TV ad that the small conditioner is presently free with the shampoo. But is it worth buying? READ ON.

Both the shampoo and the conditioner smell like all other Sunsilk variations, nice and not overwhelming.

Sunsilk Straight Lock Shampoo and Conditioner Review Swatch

MY HAIR BEFORE USING SUNSILK STRAIGHT LOCK SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER

I had slightly wavy, very long hair which I had gotten rebonded in Dec 2009. The rebonding lasted 2+ years, after which the new growth up to shoulders turned wavy again. I keep my hair tightly braided from last 1 year, which is bound to create temporary waves. My hair go frizzy only sometimes in very hot months.

I do NOT use shampoos that contain sulphates. Ever since I have stopped using sulphate based shampoos and have reduced the use of conditioner, I am enjoying rich and healthy hair with absolutely no hair fall in the past few months.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH SUNSILK STRAIGHT LOCK SHAMPOO

The first time I washed my hair with Sunsilk straight lock shampoo, I was elated. It spreads and lathers very easily even with a small amount. While rinsing away the shampoo, my hair were absolutely straight and soft under running water.

Sunsilk Straight Lock Shampoo Review
Sunsilk Straight Lock Shampoo Ingredients
I have color treated hair and SLS based shampoos leave my hair ends into unbelievably bad knots which takes me some 30 min or so to untangle. I have used Sunsilk straight lock shampoo 5 times now, and each time I came out of shower with absolutely soft, straight hair with no tangles at all. This was a BIG THUMBS UP!

It is important to know here that I usually wash my hair hanging straight at my back instead of bringing them to the front of my head. Also, I towel them in straight length and let them air dry naturally hanging straight. This habit gave me gorgeously straight hair results with this shampoo. You obviously cannot expect ironed or rebonded straight hair but we are talking about more aligned less wavy hair.

This shampoo gave bounce, volume, shine and straightening to my hair and could have been an absolutely wonderful product BUT I started noticing hair fall from second use itself. After a very long time, I am seeing full hair strands right from my bed to my bathroom floor to where I comb my hair. The hair are coming off right from the roots. The strange thing is, while shampooing, only one or two hair strands come out but later I see hair stands just anywhere I sit in my house and I have to check when I enter the kitchen.

The hair are soft and non-frizzy after drying. But for the first comb after every hair wash, I had to use a hair serum to comb through as the fallen hair stuck in the lengths.

It contains the regular laundry list of chemicals, and Mineral Oil that forms a coating on the hair and seals in moisture. Mineral oil also prevents the additional moisture in the air to be absorbed into the hair thus preventing frizz. As the weather is not humid here at present, there was no way to check how anti-frizz it actually is. But mineral oil CANNOT penetrate the hair shaft, so the claim in the 2nd picture above is false. Also, when used in dry weather, it would ultimately dry out your hair by not letting them drink up any moisture from the air around.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH SUNSILK STRAIGHT LOCK CONDITIONER

The shampoo and conditioner both are to be used together to get straight hair results. Usually I condition my hair once in 3 weeks or so but I used this conditioner every time I used the shampoo.

Sunsilk Straight Lock Conditioner Review
Sunsilk Straight Lock Conditioner Ingredients
This conditioner is slightly thicker than lotions and sometimes spills easily if I am not careful while dispensing it out of the tube. A very very small amount of Sunsilk Straight Lock Conditioner was enough for my very long hair, which amazed me. I dilute it with some water and then it easily spreads on my entire hair in a few seconds. Leave for a minute and rinse off. Requires less amount of water to rinse off as compared to other conditioners.

I have even tried the conditioner with my regular Organic Surge (non sulphate) shampoo. While I did get very soft and nicely straight hair with this conditioner, the hair fall is still there.

THE VERDICT:

This shampoo and conditioner do give beautiful straightening results to normal wavy hair but cause hair fall on regular use. I have tried these on absolutely healthy scalp when I had no hair fall or other issues. I will now use them once in two months in between my regular non sulphate shampoo. I hope it should not harm my hair that ways. I will NOT repurchase these.

If you want to try these, try the smallest packing first as it is pocket friendly. I haven't seen these in sachets yet. If any of you have used it and not experienced any hair fall, please share in the comments below.

Note: I had applied for a free sample of this shampoo and conditioner at indiblogger.in on Jan 31, 2013. The bloggers were supposed to use these and submit their experience for a chance to win some prizes. My sample reached me after the contest date. I did not purchase these and was under no obligation to review these. I am reviewing these out of my own free will.

GIOVANNI Frizz Be Gone Hair Serum Review

This is a review of Giovanni Frizz Be Gone super smoothing anti-frizz hair serum with Eco Chic Technology.

GIOVANNI Frizz Be Gone Hair Serum Review

GIOVANNI Frizz Be Gone Hair Serum Review

By now you all may be aware of my love for hair care products and how I always keep looking for better products with less chemicals. The same search this time led me to the organic hair care brand Giovanni, which claims 100% Vegetarian ingredients and no harmful chemicals.

I bought this hair serum from an online store where the description said "A super smoothing anti-frizz serum. This liquid style creates the perfect sealant: control frizz, add shine, infuse with conditioners and lock in hair color. Perfect for all hair types, especially dry and colored hair."

Giovanni Frizz Be Gone hair serum comes in a transparent plastic bottle with a lockable pump. Just twist the beak of the pump a little to the left and it locks, but the lock is not tight enough for spill-proof traveling.

GIOVANNI Frizz Be Gone Hair Serum

I was super excited to try a chemical free product that claimed to give super smooth hair. With very high hopes, I started using Giovanni Frizz be Gone hair Serum in Aug 2012. Aug and Sept are high humidity months in North India, when hair become really frizzy and fluff up in volume. So it was the best time to test this hair serum.

I used it religiously for 2 months and finally gave up. It fell flat in the face of all its tall claims.
  1. I don't cut my hair at all, so lower ends need a hair serum for smooth combing. It could not tame my frizzy hair. Even after applying this serum, hair remained quite  fluffy and difficult to comb.
  2. The directions tell you to evenly distribute through hair, but its consistency is such, even distribution is just not possible. This is one product I just could not figure out the perfect way to get proper application. The serum settles at different places in the hair length. You can see patches where there is serum and dry hair in other places. Even if you run a wet comb to spread it, it does not spread.
  3. You need to literally 'wipe' your hands hard on your hair for the serum to transfer to frizzy hair and spread properly. A lot of product still remains on the palms causing wastage.
  4. Contains dimethicone (silicon oil). Instead of getting absorbed into the hair and providing any nutrition, Dimethicone actually forms a plastic-like coating on the hair. So if you already have dry, undernourished hair, it will actually prevent your hair from absorbing any natural moisture from the air, thus worsening your hair condition gradually.
  5. The only thing this is good at is hair styling. But that too once or twice after hair wash. Within three usages after hair wash, hair start looking dirty with thick strands of hair sticking together. You look like you haven't washed hair for 10 days!
  6. It smooths hair to a small extent but the effect does not even last 24 hours. Each hair strand looks separate yet very thick, hardened and heavy.
  7. The package says 'may be used with blow dryer for straightening, but I feel that would make your hair look like you have applied diluted gum or have starched your hair.
  8. This serum gives absolutely no shine to the hair. Forget nourishment, all my hair ends look white, starched, dry and wavy like nylon fibers. My hair have become so undernourished that I am shocked to see countless hair strands with 5-6 splits in each hair. Even chemical-based L'Oreal hair serums did not damage my hair like this one did.
  9. I have no idea what their trademarked Eco Chic Technology means. The definition just went over my head.
  10. It claims to be America's #1 organic hair care brand. But it is ridiculously high priced in the name of an organic brand. Even if it be priced at 1/5th the current price, I will never repurchase it. I had even bought a hair spray from Giovanni, which also I regret buying within one use, because it burns into my scalp.

My personal experience with this one has not been good. I am sure other hair serums contain dimethicone too, but this one just did not give me any positive results.

I have not tried this on wet hair yet, as I use Vidal Sassoon Color Care hairtreatment on wet hair. But I will try this on wet hair and update the review, if I see any better results on wet hair. If you have very healthy thick hair, this may work for you, but I still won't recommend it because it is just not worth the price you would be paying for.

Homemade Aloe Vera Gel Shine, Moisture and Volume Boost Hair Masks: Very Easy

To know how to extract pure and fresh Aloe Vera Gel directly from the plant, check my article HERE. The internet has more than enough information on how to use this gel, right from incorporating it into food to making skin care and personal care recipes out of it. I will here be briefly sharing with you some of the uses I have made of this gel and my experience.

Home Made Aloe Vera Gel Shine, Moisture and Volume Boost hair mask

Pure Aloe Vera Gel Shine and Moisture Boost Hair Mask

This Hair Mask can be used before shampooing or after shampooing as per your choice. This was suggested by one of my blog readers Pratibha Rangavajulla, who has great interest in reaping benefits from natural and organic products easily available around us.

Aloe Vera Gel after Shampoo hair Mask (As used by Pratibha):

Step 1: After shampoo, either towel dry or gently wring out excess water from your hair. Spread the Aloe Vera Gel into scalp and hair length and leave on for minimum 10 minutes.  Rinse off with plain water.

Step 2: Run a few drops of Jojoba Oil through your towel dried hair, just like a hair serum. This will give immense shine and softness to your hair and will act as a great styling agent too. As per Pratibha, whenever she does this, her hair dry to a salon shine finish.

Aloe Vera Gel Pre-Shampoo Hair Mask:

When I first used pure Aloe Vera gel in the hair, I felt that the plant smell remained in my hair for one day. So I decided to use this pre-shampooing. Blended Aloe Vera gel has the same consistency as a shampoo and when it touches the scalp, it fluffs up a little and easily spreads into the scalp.

Rub into scalp/hair roots just like shampoo and use the remaining liquid to cover hair length. Use lavishly and leave on for minimum 10 min or more as per your choice. Rinse off with plain water (warm or cold). Shampoo as usual. You will notice immense shine and a very soothing sensation in the scalp.

MY EXPERIENCE:

I had very sensitive scalp which used to itch and burn on using hair color. I have been using this hair mask some 4 days before I color my hair and within 2 uses, my scalp is 98% healed. I applied color yesterday and there was no burning except for a very small area in the scalp. It gives a very soothing and cooling effect and is superb for summers especially. The scalp immediately feels fresh and all itching/burning is gone. My hair got an immense moisture and shine boost.

Aloe Vera Gel Shine and Volume Boost Hair Mask:

Use the same hair mask as above with the juice of half a lemon added to it. This will be comparatively runny than pure aloe vera gel and will drip a little. So wear an old shirt or shower cap. I kept for 10-15 minutes and it gave not only shine but immense volume to my hair. I did not use a conditioner nor Jojoba oil since I color my hair and the oil wears off the color.

People with freshly colored hair do NOT use the lemon as it will wash out some of the color. But you can use it a few days before you color/touch up next.

Note:
  1. Filter out the plant fibres in the gel using a wide-pore sieve otherwise the fibres dry up on the hair strands and it becomes quite a task to remove them.
  2. You will not feel any difference while your hair are wet. Once water dries out of hair, you will notice the shine and volume.
ALTERNATE USES:

If you don’t want to use it as a hair mask, you can mix the gel with any shampoo of your choice right at the time of shampooing. Alternatively, you can mix the pure gel with your hair conditioner right at that time and use it.

Aloe Vera Gel Other Hair benefits:

People suffering from excessive hair loss/thinning hair or any scalp infections will also benefit from these hair masks as Aloe Vera promotes hair growth and also helps regeneration of hair in bald areas on the scalp.

You can add a few drops of any essential oils of your choice to the hair mask. The internet is full of information on this so go and research on more uses.

Caution:

Like with everything else, there can be a small fraction of people to whom this plant may not suit. I have very sensitive skin and did not feel any irritation. While extracting the gel, sometimes I feel a slight scratchy feeling in my palms similar to what you feel when chopping lady fingers or any sticky vegetable. But it went away as soon as I washed my hands with water. If this gel does not suit you, please do NOT use it.

How to Extract Aloe Vera Gel at Home?

We have many herbs and medicinal plants in our garden and Aloe Vera is one of them. Having an Aloe Vera plant at home is a blessing, since this is such a wonder plant and requires minimal maintenance. Just water it every few days and it will stay happy and green. It dries up in winters chill if not protected or covered.

Aloe Vera Plant

I have seen it flower rarely, like probably once in a year. Here's how the Aloe Vera flower-stick looks.

Aloe Vera Flowers

Extracting pure Aloe Vera gel at home is very easy. Also fresh gel is much more effective for the skin than packed and stored gel available in the market. Here's how to extract Aloe Vera Gel at home.

1. Slice off a big leaf from the outer side of the cluster and thoroughly wash under running water to remove dust.

Aloe Vera Leaf Oozing Aloe Vera Gel

2. The gel on the open end of the leaf will start turning yellow soon after contact with the air. Wash off the yellow gel again with water or just chop off an inch or so.

Aloe Vera Leaf Oozing Aloe Vera Gel

3. Run the knife blade through the thorny edges first. The small teeth at the ends come off easily in one long knife stroke and are not very pricky.

4. Hold the leaf over a wide utensil/container and peel off just like a fruit. If some of the gel remains on the peels, scrape off using the blunt side of the knife. If required, chop the leaf into small easy-to-handle pieces.

Pure Aloe Vera Gel Crystals

Aloe Vera Leaf Peels

You can dry these Aloe Vera peels under the Sun, preferably covering with a thin cotton or muslin cloth. Then add this dry Aloe Vera Powder to your daily use Talcum Powder. (Throw away the two thorny strips)

5. Cut the gel chunks into small pieces and blend in a mixer-blender (just a few rotations are enough). There will be some chunks left. Remove the liquid into a container and blend the remaining chunks again. It will be a little frothy from blending.

Pure Home-made Aloe Vera Gel

6. Shift to a clean container with a lid and refrigerate. Make sure your hands are clean. The froth will settle after some time. And your pure home-made Aloe Vera gel is ready.

Pure Home-made Aloe Vera Gel Storage

Pure Home-made Aloe Vera Gel

The only time goes into peeling and scraping off the gel (5-10 min). Blending takes just 2 minutes. It smells of the Aloe Vera plant but the smell is not strong or unpleasant. When you apply on skin, the smell goes away in a few minutes. Without any preservatives, this should last a week or so under refrigeration. Try to use as soon as possible.

If you have some space at home, do keep a plant in a pot or in the earth. It is easily available in any plant nursery or you can get a plantlet from someone who already has an Aloe Vera plant.

How to use this gel as a hair mask? Read HERE
How to use this on Face: Apply neat on face and leave on or wash off after 10 minutes or so. Do NOT go out in the Sun with this on as it may cause photo reaction on the skin on exposure to Sunlight. For more uses, check on the internet.

Organic Surge Colour Protect Shampoo Review

This is a review of Organic Surge Colour Protect Shampoo for colour-treated hair. I was using chemical hair colors for 9 years and kept using ordinary SLS based shampoos all this while, as I did not know earlier that color treated hair need milder products and special care. My hair ends started tangling into rigid knots after each wash. My first color protect shampoo was from Vidal Sassoon, that proved a disaster and my search for an SLS free shampoo brought me to Organic Surge.

Organic Surge Color Protect Shampoo Review

Read the rest of the description here:

Organic Surge Color Protect Shampoo Review Claims Description

Organic Surge Colour protect shampoo is a blend of 98% naturally-derived and organic ingredients
Contains organic peach extract and almond essential oil.
Organic Surge is against animal testing.

ORGANIC SURGE COLOR PROTECT SHAMPOO INGREDIENTS:

Organic Surge Color Protect Shampoo Ingredients

Phenoxyethanol is used in products as an alternative to parabens and alone, it is unsafe for use near eyes, mouth, ear etc. But every product in the market contains either Parabens on Phenoxyethanol. Here, Phenoxyethanol / Benzyl Acohol / Potassium Sorbate combination gives it antimicrobial properties against Bacteria, Yeast and Moulds. These are added as preservatives.

I have never felt any itching on the scalp or irritation with this shampoo.

Smell: It has a deliciously sweet fruity fragrance
Color: Looks exactly like pineapple or sweetlime juice
Consistency: It is a little runny/watery

MY EXPERIENCE WITH ORGANIC SURGE COLOR PROTECT SHAMPOO

I have used 3 bottles of this shampoo so far. Recently started using an SLS-free shampoo bar from another brand because this shampoo is very costly now. But I love Organic Surge and will still repurchase it for the following reasons:
  • It treated the burning in my scalp caused by the Vidal Sassoon Color Care shampoo
  • It deeply enhances my hair color.
  • It smells sweet and delicious, and feels like I am washing my hair with fruit juice than a shampoo.
  • The best part is, I can wash my long hair within a few minutes. This has no Sodium Laureth Sulfate or any such chemical foaming agents, so it rinses off within 2-3 full big mugs of water.
  • This shampoo is clarifying as it removed all the heaviness (deposits from continuous rich conditioning) from my hair and has made them light and soft.
  • Organic Surge Colour Protect Shampoo gives immense shine, great visibility and radiance to my hair color.
Regarding the ‘Longer lasting Colour’ claim, I honestly did not find much weightage in that. It will protect your hair color if you use a permanent hair color but for any temporary hair colors I tried, they all washed out in 3 uses with this shampoo. So for that matter, you can use any shampoo from their wide range and they all will give you beautiful hair.

Since I now use Henna, I have used it with Henna too and it works awesome on Henna treated hair.

I rarely use any conditioner now still my hair are soft. I was suffering from excessive hair loss and continuous use of this shampoo has stopped my hair loss despite stress and poor sleep/diet patterns.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

When you switch from an ordinary or SLS based shampoo to a non-SLS shampoo, it takes some time for your hair to adapt and adjust. Initially the shampoo won’t lather much and you may not feel any shine or special difference in your hair. But after a month or so, your will notice great difference when your hair have adjusted to it. The shampoo will then lather much more than before and will make your hair softer. My hair just thank me for giving them this fruity treat.

Organic Surge Color Protect Shampoo results
A Strand of my hair washed with Organic Surge color protect shampoo, coated with Vidal Sasoon Color care treatment after 44 hrs of shampooing.
HOW DOES THIS SHAMPOO LATHER?

It contains Sucrose Laurate and Lauryl Glucosyde (derived from coconut oil and sugar) as surfactants.

People who love excessive foam during shampooing may not like it as it does not foam like SLS based shampoos.

TIPS:
  1. This shampoo is a little runny like thick fruit juice, so you need to be careful while pouring it out. As the level of shampoo goes down with usage, it becomes easier to handle.
  2. Works best when diluted with a little water.
  3. It won't lather on rubbing into the scalp. Pat the diluted shampoo into the scalp and it will spread like a dream.
You can use any conditioner of your choice (even chemical based) every 2-3 weeks while using this shampoo and your hair will shine with health. People with hair problems or chemically-treated hair better avoid conditioner and use hair serum instead.

I had suggested Organic Surge Moisture Boost Shampoo to some readers who did not have color treated hair and were looking for an SLS free shampoo. Some of them are using it and are very happy with the results. I will also try Moisture Boost in the near future.

Repurchase: Yes
Recommend?: Highly

UPDATE Aug 27, 2013: This particular shampoo has been discontinued. Organic Surge has reformulated its Moisture Boost shampoo into a Color protect shampoo now. It will soon be restocked on most online stores and you can try that. It is NO LONGER sulphates free, though it may be mild. I won't be repurchasing it as I am wary of the new ingredient list.

* Test conducted in laboratory after application of shampoo, conditioner and serum vs ordinary shampoo.

Oiled, gelled or dry frizzy flying hair are out and beautiful natural hair are in - thanks to hair serums. You have a different serum available for different hair needs and just need to find the right one for you.

I had been a using the L’Oreal Paris Liss Ultime shine perfecting hair serum (reviewed here) for 2+ years, when I saw this serum on goodlife.com. I didn’t realize that the one I was using was from a professional range and thought that this one was just another variation. The price was quite less than the Liss Ultime serum and this also claimed to manage unruly hair and add shine. So I thought of giving this a try.

From my experience, I would like to reiterate here that the results of a product depend entirely on how you use it. Many times a good product may not give you good results just because you didn’t use it the way it was supposed to be used, and that makes all the difference. Use a very small quantity of this serum and you will get good results. See what happened in my case.

On first time use, I liked the scent and my hair did smooth down instantly. But later hair looked weighed down. Forget 48 hours, I had dry hardened hair the next day. So I reapplied the serum and hair looked more weighed down. (I was actually using the same quantity as I use for liss ultime and this one is thicker and 'less is more'.) Ultimately I washed my hair and decided I didn’t like it. I gave it one more shot and applied to washed hair and same bad results.

To add to it, the bottle slipped from my hands and its neck broke, wasting a considerable amount of serum. I had to take out serum from the broken large opening, which poured out large quantity on my palm. I couldn't pour it back in, so instead of wasting, kept applying whatever amount it delivered. Applying more serum made my hair sticky, weighed down and dry and I kept wondering how could a renowned brand make such a bad product.

It kept lying in a cupboard shelf for months, till I gave it another try recently when my regular liss ultime bottle emptied. This time I got the desired results. I have very long, color treated hair, that tangle and become frizzy easily. I am using a very small quantity of this serum, and I do get smooth, managed hair for 48 hrs. Each hair strand is separate, healthy and untangled and it adds volume to my hair.

I have finally been able to get the proper quantity out by transferring this serum from the broken bottle to the empty Liss Ultime pump bottle.

THE PLUSES:
  1. Since it is thick in consistency, you need a very very small quantity to make your hair smooth.
  2. The effect lasts up to 48 hrs, which means you need to apply only on alternate days. So great long lasting effect and less maintenance.
  3. Dry, hard, frizzy hair become manageable in a few seconds by using just a few drops of this serum.
  4. If you have very long hair and braid them, it is a great daily use hair serum, instead of hair oil or not applying anything at all. This serum contains argan oil.
  5. Hair feels very soft, healthy and voluminous for two days.
  6. This serum is very silky in touch (doesn't make hair silky though) and keeps hair strands untangled.
  7. It's a great styling serum as you can easily style your hair in any way after applying this. It does tame all flying frizzy hair strands.
  8. Good value for money. One bottle is enough for the entire family for many months use.
THE MINUSES
  1. Your palms become silky and slippery after applying this serum, and rest the picture says it all. Very bad quality breakable bottle. The broken bottle neck stuck inside the cap and the lid never closed after that.
  2. The bottle is not transparent so you have no idea of the quantity.
  3. There is a small opening under the flip cap but even careful pouring takes out more quantity than you may actually want. It would make a great product in a different, more user-friendly packing.
  4. This is not safe to carry during travelling due to poor packing unless you shift it to another container.
  5. Though pleasant, the scent is a little strong for my nose. It's more of personal choice. Some people may like that.
  6. While it does make my hair very soft and comb-able, it stands nowhere close to the professional Liss Ultime Serum.
  7. The brand’s claim of shine is completely exaggerated. This just gives a slight shine to your hair. Makes them look naturally beautiful though.
Directions for Use (As given on bottle):
  • Apply onto washed and dried or dry hair.
  • To open, flip open the cap.
  • Pour several drops of serum into the palm of your hand. (for longer hair more serum may be required)
  • Rub hands together and distribute evenly along the length of the hair. DO NOT rinse out.
Or refer to detailed instructions in the Liss Ultime Serum Review here.

Do I recommend? Only to people with very long and coarse hair, or for shared use. It will be good value for money for them.

If you want to keep your hair loose and straight, or you have straightened /rebonded /color treated hair, add a few more bucks and go for the professional Liss Ultime Serum that gives both intense shine and smoothness.

The quantity is way too much for people with short hair, so you can share with friends and family, making it more economical. Since you don't touch the serum inside the bottle, sharing won't be a hygiene issue.

Will I buy again? I had a lot of it left even after the spillage, which I shifted to the empty liss ultime serum bottle. But that bottle too developed a crack in the base and I lost even the remaining serum. I have not bought it again for serious packing issues and also, my color treated hair need less oily serum. For people with natural/untreated virgin hair, this is a good product.
